Organised as a high-level interdisciplinary forum, the summit explored the scientific, technical, policy, governance and societal dimensions of climate cooling and other near-term climate risk reduction strategies. Discussions centred on practical, evidence-based approaches to improving resilience while fostering collaboration between researchers, governments, industry and civil society.

The event brought together an outstanding group of international experts, including Sir David King, former UK Chief Scientific Adviser; János Pasztor, former United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Climate Change; Dr. M. N. Rajeevan, former Secretary of India's Ministry of Earth Sciences; Air Vice Marshal (Dr.) Ajit Tyagi (Retd.), former Director General of the India Meteorological Department; Dr. U. C. Mohanty, former Director General of Meteorology; and Lt. Gen. Arun Sahni (Retd.), alongside directors, chief executives, policymakers, scientists and innovators from across India and around the world.

Representing MEER, Samiksha Gotephode attended the summit on behalf of the organisation, engaging with participants and sharing MEER's work on passive surface cooling, climate adaptation and community-based approaches to reducing heat exposure.

During the event, the team also had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with several leading researchers and environmental leaders, including Brian Von Herzen, Ph.D., Soumitra Das, Rituraj Phukan, Pema Gyamtsho, Ph.D., and Anjan Sarma. These discussions provided valuable opportunities to explore future collaborations and learn from innovative work being undertaken across multiple sectors.

Participation in events such as the India Climate Cooling Summit is an important part of MEER's commitment to collaboration and knowledge sharing. As climate risks continue to intensify, bringing together expertise from science, engineering, policy, finance and community engagement will be essential to developing practical, scalable solutions for a warming world.

MEER extends its thanks to the organisers for hosting an informative and thought-provoking summit and looks forward to building on the new relationships and collaborative opportunities established during the event.
