Chew Valley School’s Heartwarming Fundraising Efforts for MEER

We are thrilled to share an inspiring update from Chew Valley School, whose students have shown incredible dedication and enthusiasm in raising funds for MEER. Their recent initiatives are a testament to the power of community and the importance of supporting environmental causes.

Nature Festival Tombola Success

Chew Valley School's Climate Action Team organized a tombola on Sunday, June 30th, at the local nature festival.Their hard work and commitment paid off, as they successfully raised an impressive £367. This amount, combined with the proceeds from a previous cake sale, means that MEER will soon receive around £420 from these dedicated students.

Upcoming 'Wrong Shoes' Day

The students' fundraising efforts are far from over. On July 22nd, Chew Valley School will host a 'wrong shoes' day, allowing children to wear trainers instead of school shoes for a day. Each participating student will contribute a pound, with all proceeds going directly to MEER. This fun and engaging initiative raises funds and spreads awareness about the importance of supporting environmental education and conservation.

Silver Ribbon Pin Badges

In addition to these events, one of the students, Cara (age 13), has taken a creative approach to fundraising. She has crafted beautiful silver ribbon pin badges, symbolizing the work of MEER. These badges are sold for 50p each, adding to the fundraising efforts. Cara’s initiative highlights the creative ways young people can contribute to meaningful causes.

Pride and Excitement

We are incredibly proud of the Climate Action Team and all the students involved in these activities. Their enthusiasm for MEER's mission is heartwarming and inspiring. Their hard work and innovative ideas not only raise funds but also significantly impact the community, fostering a sense of collective responsibility towards our environment.

Thank you, Chew Valley School, for your unwavering support and commitment to making a difference. We eagerly await the funds' arrival and look forward to continuing to partner with your exceptional students.

Stay tuned for more updates on our collaborative efforts and the impact of these generous donations on MEER's projects.
