At the bustling Aberdeen Roundabout, an inspiring event unfolded as the MEER team warmly welcomed a group of ten determined disabled students from the Dorothy Springer Trust. The morning air buzzed with excitement and anticipation as the students arrived, greeted by MEER's Communications Officer, setting the tone for a day of learning and creativity. 

Dr. Ye Tao, the visionary behind MEER, began the session by introducing the organization's mission to integrate environmental conservation with community development. His welcoming speech not only highlighted the ongoing projects but also emphasized the transformative power of upcycling-turning waste materials into valuable, sustainable products. 

The day's highlight was the tour led by Saidu Kargbo, the Fabrication Team Lead, who took the students through a showcase of innovative upcycled projects. Among the displays were a swing bench and a mirror canopy shade covering, both crafted from repurposed materials. These projects served as prime examples of how everyday waste could be transformed into functional and artistic pieces, embodying MEER's commitment to environmental sustainability and creative problem-solving. 

The session culminated in a live demonstration where the Fabrication team illustrated the process of converting PET bottles into a variety of useful items. This hands-on experience was particularly engaging, offering the students a chance to see the potential of upcycling in real-time. 

Feedback from the students was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing eagerness to participate in the ongoing training programs. The day not only provided them with valuable insights into the possibilities of upcycling but also empowered them to think creatively about the role they could play in environmental conservation and community enhancement.
