At the GAIA festival, the environmental science department showcased MEER's unique approach to sustainability. The festival featured a comprehensive model that demonstrated MEER's core concept of 'cooling earth by reflecting sunlight'. MEER volunteers prepared a prototype that compared MEER sheets to ordinary steel sheets, revealing a significant temperature difference of 6-7 degrees Celsius. This unique feature of MEER sheets effectively addresses the crisis of increasing global temperatures.

Moreover, MEER sheets are made of recyclable materials that generate less waste, leading to a sustainable future. This is significant because the production of waste is a primary environmental concern globally. At the festival , the MEER team presented their project model of heat adaptation using surface albedo modification. The model was displayed for Principal, Dr. Nitin Kulkarni, and the Head of the department, Dr. Rupali Gaikwad. The team explained their project's objective of mitigating heatwaves caused by climate change and the importance of surface albedo modification. Dr. Kulkarni and Dr. Gaikwad were highly impressed by the team's efforts, appreciating their contribution to environmental science and encouraging them to continue their work towards a sustainable future.
