The meeting included talks by leading scientists from around the world. This event aims to offer a cross-disciplinary perspective on molecular self-assembly and self-organization.
The central topics were:
- Artificial systems: assembling synthetic molecules into well-defined nanostructures and supramolecular polymer materials.
- Biological systems: self-organization in model organisms from all trees of life.
- Inspiration from nature: applying lessons from biological self-assembly and self-organization to create biomimetic systems.
- Technological applications: translation toward smart nanomaterials and molecular machines with programmable functions.

Local teacher’s 28 bridge challenge for MEER
Rose Taylor, a geography teacher at Chew Valley School, will cover 28 miles during the challenge which will include bridges across the city, finishing at the iconic suspension bridge in Clifton.
